[p4] partner is not a perforce client/server

What the error means is that the server the client is talking to isn't a
Perforce server -- you'll get this error if, for example, you try to use P4V
to connect to a web server.  Last time I tried, the server will also
log this error if you try to point a web browser at it.   :)

So this comes down to checking the usual suspects:
1) Are you sure the server is running?
2) Are you sure it's running on the port you think it's running on?
3) Are you sure your friend is connecting to that port?
4) Are you sure the port forwarding is set up correctly?
5) Have you recently angered Nyarlathotep?
