Posted on behalf of forum user 'p4rfong'. You want to set your client workspace root to the Z: drive. From P4V, click View, Workspaces and select the workspace seen in the P4V title bar. Right-click Edit Workspace. Change your Workspace root to an existing directory on the Z: drive such as Z:\perforce.
