   thanks for releasing a new version of rcs after so long time. I've just
   updated rcs to 5.8 in Fedora Rawhide and here are some patches currently
   used and able to apply in upstream if you want:

   rcs-5.8-newsvnsyntax.patch - based on
   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247998

   rcs-5.8-sameuserlocks.patch - based on
   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=107947

Thanks for the pointers and patches.

   Any feedback on those two patches is welcome.

They look fine to me.  I'll work these into the next release, probably in
slightly modified form (internally), but maintaining the user interface
(i.e., ‘-S’) for compatability w/ the patched versions that (presumably)
are widely distributed by now.

Please feel free to monitor the repo and ping me on 2011-10-15 if you
don't see them land by then.
