It's good that you mentioned "date -r" non-portability. As a result, i have just installed: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/rcs.git/commit/?h=p&id=b8ed0c46e As for "pic -n" problems, i presume the configure script eventually looped around to (and selected) "pic -D", but if that's still a problem, you can specify it on the ./configure command-line directly w/ var ‘PIC’. Will continue the make check concerns in the other thread.
