Agreed. In my own experience using the IDE client,
it seems that "Access Error" is VS.NET's way of
reporting *everything* that goes wrong inside the
scc component. We can probably be a bit more
specific...

Subject: [vault-list] Access Error

I spent some time yesterday trying to figure out why I was getting an
"Access Error" message from inside the IDE when trying to check out a file.
Turns out the computer I was on was using simple file sharing, and by
default local users do not have write or modify access, so Vault was unable
to change the file's status from Read Only. I suggest SourceGear
specifically traps this exception and provides a more explicit error message
with suggestions about how to resolve it.

Thanks,
