RE: Labels vs. Branches

A tag-style label means we associate a text string with a folder version,
instead of creating a new node in the tree for the label to go.  In 2.0, we
have a separate Show Labels dialog which displays all the labels you have
applied to a particular folder.  You can do a Get on a label to retrieve it
to a working folder or non-working folder.  You can also change the text of
the tag (e.g., "Preview - Candidate" to "Preview"), and you can change the
version number of the folder the label is associated with, as well as view
the folder at the time of the label in a different window, and share, branch
or pin it, as long as it stays associated with a single version of a folder.

These kinds of labels are much more lightweight than the branch style
labels, because it doesn't create new nodes in the tree, nor create branches
of files within the database.

  Could you please elaborate on what is meant by "SourceSafe tag-style
labels", since Vault is me first experience with modern SCCS products.  We
have been using labels so that it would be easy to do a "Get Latest" of a
particular release to a particular working folder without interfering with
the main body of work.
