We've had several people report that they are using Microsoft ISA server to connect to their Vault server. One of the issues that we've run into with testing proxies in house is that ISA seems to open a new connection for every request, instead of respecting the keepalive setting. You can notice the problem immediately if you connect to server on a 2000 pro or XP box, since those versions of windows limit the number of IIS connections to somewhere near 10. That means after the tenth time that the Vault client talks to the server, the server will respond with messages about being too busy. The questions for people using ISA proxies. How are you getting around this? Are you running the Vault server on 2000/2003 server? Is there a ISA proxy configuration setting to tell it to respect keepalive? Does the proxy opening new connections degrade your performance? I would appreciate hearing more from people who have successfully worked around this issue. -Jeremy
