Was there a reason for changing behavior from prior version on how it
connects? I thought prior version was great. Remembered automatic logon if
wanted and repository to which solution belonged. This worked great with
the several solutions/projects we have and the various repositories. It
almost seems like step backwards to version 1.0 at this point of having to
specify repositories each time.

Unfortunately, yes, if you want to be able to automatically connect to 7
different repositories, you would have to create 7 profiles, or have one
profile that automatically connects to the server, but then choose the
repository each time.

However, I am looking into handling the IDE specially in this case, since
the IDE knows which repository it is supposed to go to, we could bypass the
profile setting for repository for IDE projects.
