Producing a list of checked in files

We're in the process of moving over from VSS to vault but one feature we
require is the ability to generate a list of all checkins that have been
made to a repository during the day. Currently with VSS we parse the log
file to get this information. Even in debug mode the vault log however does
not store the actual file details. I have tried to use the command line
history function but this does not give me actual file names either, instead
just returning a txid. 
Is there an easy way of getting this information from vault without using
the client?
