Bug in automerge

Several times now we have lost code by saying "attempt automerge" when getting latest. Have been unable to identify exact steps done to reproduce. Code will be open in VS 2003 and a get latest is performed through vault client. While the idea of the changes made in VS were not saved when performing get latest, on several occasions when this has happened, I know they were saved. Does not happen every time, nor consistent enought to identify exact steps to reproduce it.
