Cool.  After all this discussion it is nice to see that there is a nice,
simple solution that does the job with no fuss.

Definitely.  I just committed it.

If you would like to help people find it, you might think of writing a
FAQ entry describing the problem that the script solves and giving a
pointer to the tool.  If you do so, please submit it as a patch to
www/faq.html.
