Sorry for the delay in replying, I was on vacation until yesterday :)
As for your scenario:
- run csv2svn on your server which holds the current CVS repo
- dump the resulting svn repo using 'svnadmin dump'
- install svn on AIX
- import the previous dump using 'svnadmin load'
That is broad lines what you have to.
However, if CVS in fairly large and complex, it is advisable to prune and clean up your CVS repo. That always helps to at least speed up the process. :)
