cvs2git initially, then git cvsimport

Hi, my company uses CVS but I would like to use git locally, and I therefore need incremental import. Is there any advantage to use cvs2git for the initial import and then git cvsimport to keep the local repository up-to-date? If so, any tips? Google has failed to enlighten me on that issue.
