I wasn't even aware of the Debian bug report; unfortunately they don't 
seem to forward bug reports to the upstream project as a matter of course.

Since you can reproduce the failures, would you mind running the test 
suite in verbose mode:

     ./run-tests.py -v 132 133

where the numbers are the numbers of the tests that "FAIL"?  Please send 
the results to the mailing list.

Please note that tests that "XFAIL" are known minor bugs that are not 
considered serious.
