I think I misunderstood the word "minimal", but whatever. See r1935625.
This is a mixup of my personal notes how to run the test suite and should
help anyone to get started.

The description of running the tests under CMake could do with some more
work - I don't understand this well enough.

I think there is also an option of running the test suite by calling
run_tests.py manually - maybe this is the way to do it when building under
vcproj? I don't think I ever managed to build everything using vcproj, much
less to run the test suite.
