Hm, it look like you are trying to connect the server root instead of a 
repository url, or do I misinterpret the error message?

So, did you try to use https://svn1.ssvl.kth.se to checkout a working 
copy or to add a repository bookmark or something like 
https://svn1.ssvl.kth.se/sv/foo?
