object of the same name already exists - with a existing directory

Hello. I'm just beginning with RapidSVN and I got a problem. I want to checkout some files and put them in a directory. But if the directory already exists I get the error message "object of the same name already exists" What I want to do is: If the directory already exists, then just insert the files inside of it, not removing the already existing files in there. Is there a solution for this problem?
