Marking it as derived causes it to be ignored when committing/reverting, etc if you have "Ignore managed derived resources" checked in the SVN config in Eclipse.  It's a pretty useful technique for us since previously people would overwrite configuration files with local changes made during testing.

Anyways, it used to work beautifully and now it thinks the folders are dirty.  :/
