Server 1.6 checkout problem

Hi,

 

We are still running an older svn server (1.6)  and i was trying to do a simple fresh checkout of my branch. All i get is this message:

 

 

 

Console output:

 

checkout http://svn/xxx/test -r HEAD --depth=infinity --force

    APR does not understand this error code

svn: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'http://svn/xxx/test'

svn: Error running context: The server sent an improper HTTP response

 

 

 

 

Is there anything i can change on the eclipse kepler client side to get the checkout working?

 

The svn server is running fine and it works with my older eclipse client 4.2.2. Is the new subclipse 1.10.1 client not fully compatible with an older 1.6 server?
