Hi Linda, Here is what I did (to the best of my recollection): We have many Visual SourceSafe databases on our company file server. Currently, only three of them were exposed using SourceOffSite. One of them is a database that I always work on. Let's say that the name that we gave it in SourceOffSite is "CTestDb". I have been using it for a while, and whenever I open Visual Studio .NET OR the SourceOffSite Client, CTestDb is already selected so I do not need to change it when I log in. Recently, we needed to expose another database through SourceOffSite. I went into the the SourceOffSite server manager, selected the Databases tab, clicked Add, and specified the location of the new database and the alias; let's say the alias was "BTestDb". I stopped and started the service. Now, when I open the SourceOffSite client, it still correctly defaults my database selection in the drop-down to "CTestDb" - great. However, when I open my project in the VS.NET IDE, it _always_ defaults the selection to the new "BTestDb" database, even though I do not use it. I have to switch it back to "CTestDb" EVERY TIME. In fact, even when I get prompted a couple of times in a row to log in, I have to change each of those times as well. This is quite annoying and prone to error; in fact, I have mistakenly selected the wrong database several times now. So, it appears that the SOS client is keeping track of the default db correctly for me, but the IDE client is not. I am using Visual Studio .NET 2003 with a large solutions that includes several projects including ASP.NET, web services, windows forms, console apps, and setup projects. We are using SourceOffSite 3.5.3. Are you adding a new project to source code control, opening a project from source code=20 control, or a different operation? I experimented with this but I'm not sure I'm doing the same steps you are.
