Hi, Paul,

Using the same directory for VSS and SOS can lead to some of the problems 
you are seeing. If files appear in the SOS working directory that were not 
retrieved by SOS the status is Unknown. If the timestamps have changed, but 
the files are not checked out, SOS reports these files as Renegade.

See this KB article for a full description of SOS file status. It may give 
you clues as to why you are seeing the particular file status.
