Try checking out the Make Human project at http://projects.blender.org/projects/makeh/ Download MH20-WINTER02.zip, unzip it, then open the blend file inside the MH20-WINTER02 file. You can then create a human being (default is a weird androgynous figure) and there is a tutorial under docs that shows how to use the armature autorigging. For exporting to MD2, I think you'll have to find a converter. Blender can export in several formats, so you might find a good format that converts to MD2 easily already built into Blender? Need to research that one. Here is also a list of tutorials, human modeling is down lower on the list... http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Tutorial_Links_List Don't be afraid to share what you find, and ask qustions if you get stuck.
