Truthfully I don't think the interface for Avid is very pretty... I 
can't stand looking at ugly interfaces. Plus it looks like they are 
one of those companies that want to spam you to death after you 
register for a cut down version of their software... jahshaka is 
pretty sweet looking, I tried it out a while back on linux. Tons of 
documentation and I think HP was sponsoring them at some point a 
long time ago. I recommend learning video editing in blender because 
it's a part of blender to learn and it's good to learn to use the 
parts...
