NURBS: Non-Uniform rational B-Spline
It's a kind of a curve (Shift-A -> Add -> Curve) often used in CAD. If
you don't know what it is, you don't need to use it ;-) just stick with
(Subdiv) Meshes. The implementation of NURBS in blender is not that
good, NURBS are not used very often in blender.

After you rendered the image you can save it with F3, image format is
set in scene-Buttons (F10)
