Looking for an animation tutorial

Hello

   I am a newbie to blender. I played with all the modeling and
rendering materials, texture etc. I am getting into animating the
models. I got two problems. I am using 2.44 blender
 
   1. I am not getting the RVK technique working as described in the
tutorial. As per the tutorial, it says press I key and and select
Relative Vertex Key. This menu item is not present so I couldn't
select it. What could be the problem. If any one can provide a basic
tutorial for RVK technique, it would be great.

   2. I am looking for a tutorial for a moving vehicle. Meaning I want
to put my character inside the Jeep and then ride. Not sure about the
techniqueus used for the same. If some one can provide me a basic
tutorial for this it would be great.
