Sorry, young Steve, I was born 16th September, 1939, passed the eleven-plus exams, went to grammar school, then art school, have had two novels published, paint portraits and landscapes in oils, and used to be a quick learner. An accurate description of me now would be that I'm a quick forgetter. Did I say I went to art school? I may have done, but I'm never sure about things these days. I do remember that, despite having purchased the official Blender manuals, I have had problems with the program's operation which were solved for me by other group members, for which I am eternally grateful.
There have even been occasions when I was able to offer solutions to others, so this group, for me, would appear to have the philosophy of 'take when you need, give when you can', which is a nice way to live one's life. Oh, and Ingie, if you're listening, I'm currently working on a futuristic novel where there is no natural birth, the next generation arrives fully grown, and learns everything in seven days, so that beats your birthing of a seven year old, and sets you a challenge. Stick around and let us know if you can beat the record, perhaps you could produce a new-born grandfather.

You have earned our affection.

I may the grandpa of the group at 61 but I too hope the group goes on.
I'm not artistic, not creative, and not a quick learner but I'm amazed
at what Blender can do !!! A lot of you boys and girls have some real
  talent !!
