Thanks to everyone for the reply's.

For my immediate use the Timestamp will work just fine.
In time, I will try to find a way to animate a timer on a control panel 
on one of my animated machines.  It looks as if in this case I will 
have to do a much more manual process - unless of course some of the 
other suggestions that people have work.  

Post processing in another program might work.
