Useable Tutorials

I am new to Blender although I have lots of experience with multi-track video editing and post-production and I have good experience with image editing as well.

So where can I find introductory tutorials that can help me essentially get my foot in the door with Blender and be well on my way to rockin' & rollin' with 3-D text and graphics animations?

So far the video tutorials I have found have three major problems...they are blurry, the cursor in the videos jump wildly about the instructor's work area and the instructor tends to cover way too many things in one 30-second tutorial, thusly going way too fast for anyone trying to get familiarized with any kind of software to keep up with what's being said and/or demonstrated.
