I imagine it will just get a lot easier to create models and animate them. =
Will this mean the likes of us who create 3d will become obsolete? I doubt =
it we will just adapt to the new technologies.

They do in industry always say don't hire the person who can use the progra=
mmes, higher the artist (apparently). If you have good creative skills and =
good ideas you will always have a place in the industry in my opinion.

Not something I would worry about. Motion capture has been employed for qui=
te a while now. 3D scanning has also been in use for at least a little whil=
e. The fact is that some thing just don't exist to be able to be scanned. N=
ot to mention it would be a waste of time to setup mocap for a car door or =
a spinning tire.

So there is nothing to worry about there.
