MovieEditor partner and CinePaint project leader Robin Rowe presents a
demonstration of CinePaint's image retouching capabilities on Linux and
describes the project's plans for the future.

CinePaint is based on a collaborative film industry effort launched in 1998
to replace Adobe Photoshop in motion picture production. The studio Flash
Film Works won a Visual Effects Society Award in 2004 for Best Supporting
Effects for work on THE LAST SAMURAI. CinePaint was used to add the flying
arrows. For the safety of the actors, no real arrows were shot during
production.
