Initial Comment:
Using gcc-4.2.2, glibc-2.7, binutils-2.18, ufraw-0.13 and compiling from source. There are no issues with the compiled/install process. However when launching the application it crashes with;

(cinepaint:10887): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_instance_get_private: assertion `instance != NULL && instance->g_class != NULL' failed
cinepaint fatal error: sigsegv caught
cinepaint (pid:10887): [E]xit, [H]alt, show [S]tack trace or [P]roceed:

I should note this particular crash also happened on older version of the mentioned application versions.

If I select Proceed it then says;

(cinepaint:10887): Gtk-WARNING **: A floating object was finalized. This means that someone
called g_object_unref() on an object that had only a floating
reference; the initial floating reference is not owned by anyone
and must be removed with g_object_ref_sink().
cinepaint fatal error: sigsegv caught
