This case is possible not covered. The nptl directory is available at my 
development machine as well but the glibc-devel package includes as well 
the /usr/include/pthread.h file.

My guess either debian must provide a pkg-config file to cover this non 
standard only installation. 
Alternatively you can use the CFLAGS, CXXFLAGS and LDFLAGS variables. to 
point to /usr/include/np(t?)l directory.

Hmm and  I will look on, how this thing was solved in FLTK.

The currently included ICC Examin plug-in can run without Oyranos.

But ICC Examin needs threads support. 
ICC Examin is in my opinion a important plug-in. Failing with it let the 
whole CinePaint build fail. We should do the same with the print and 
OpenEXR plug-in. Otherwise we get lots of irritation about highly 
divergine packaged and distributed CinePaints.
