Lcms is a colour matching module CMM to convert colours through profiles
with options applied to the colour transformation. Similiar CMM's are
the AdobeCMM, ArgyllCMM or AppleCMM.

Oyranos is a colour management system to provide the means of configuring
profile paths, devices (like a monitor), defaults for options and standard
profiles to pass to CMM's and in the future a CMM framework to switch
between CMM's. It's role is similiar to ColorSync or WCS.
