Trouble linking to GLU.

Hello.

I've just been pursuing a flight of fancy of mine, that I might be able
to custom-compile Cinepaint 0.25 for my Debian/Lenny box.

But after I do the CVS checkout successfully and run 'make', I run into
this link error:

BTW, I've tried first without, and then with

./configure --with-gnu-ld

but the results are the same. Could anybody give me advice on how to
make these makefiles, which are auto-generated, link to opengl and glu?
I've also done a later CVS checkout of the code, but there haven't been
any updates to it since I first ran in to this error.
