There is a bash script on http://www.cinepaint.org/download.html
that will download the latest cinepaint cvs. The script is cvs-read.sh.

However, there may be some problems with the script. For one thing,
it will download the entire cinepaint-project tree, which includes
cinepaint and a lot of other things as well. You may or may not want
this.

To down load just the cinepaint CVS source, from a temporary build
directory execute the command:

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous-umaFjWZdy0gO46yPcjbmJ5G/[email protected]:/cvsroot/cinepaint co cinepaint-project/cinepaint

Then, following the script, do these commands:

cd cinepaint-project/cinepaint/
./autogen.sh
./configure

But before you run autogen.sh, you have to set the execute permissions:

chmod 0777 autogen.sh

Now the source will compile and you will have cinepaint-0.25.
