Thanks David Thanks! that helps... I was already freeing up space on my hard disk for a linux partition and I am considering installing a Linux distribution on it. My dobut is still: Which one... what exactly is the difference between them? I was considering installing a distribution called Kubuntu as it has beed described as more accessible for users coming from the windows world. But to be honest, its quite a hassle to decide which one to put on my machine, more so, because it happens to be a Notbeook and I am worried if all my hardware will be recognized. Best regards and thanks for your help! Urs David Lisle wrote: > > Cygwin is the Linux to install on windows boxes. However, if you are > planning to run Cinepaint on it be aware it doesn't compile.
