I would like the tab feature for some of the things I do, it would be 
nice as well.  In fact, for one of my projects, that would be the 
perfect tool.  Having both would make a perfect world.

Back to the original question of what Gimp has that CinePaint doesn't 
and the one thing that I use regularly is importing *.avi's into layers 
and then save them back into an avi.  I tried doing this last Friday 
with no success even though avi does show up in the menu.
