[CinePaint] 0.22-1 crashes or hangs

This could be obvious but I am stumped by this: o/s pclinuxos digital photography edition cinepaint 0.22-1 Having reinstalled cinepaint after completely removing it and deleting all traces, on starting cinepaint I get the message: Oryanos cannot find display ICC profile. Using sRGB instead Cinepaint appears to load normally after this though. On selecting the preferences option, cinepaint crashes if the first start since reinstallation. On the second and subsequent starts cinepaint hangs. ok I must own up - converted from windows 6 months ago. Until now cinepaint has been working well for me. The trigger for all this is my attempt at tidying my profile collection and experimenting with oryanos settings.
