Blank screen after install

I recently tried to install the DRM drivers and ended up getting a
completely blank screen when I rebooted. I was able to use a rescue CD
and run the install script in restore mode to undo the installation. I'm
really interested in helping this project. If there is any information
that I can provide to help the developers to resolve the issue I'd be
happy to send it. I've only been using Linux for about 6 months now but
I'm already in love with it. I need DRM to make Cedega run well though.

Here's what I'm using:
Fedora Core 5
Radeon 9500 PCI verision (ATI driver installed)
2.6.16-1.2122-FC5

I installed the latest common package then the r200 package as
instructed by the DRI site. After rebooting the system wouldn't start. I
did look at the Xorg.0.log. While I didn't understand most of it I did
see that the drivers reported failure it initialize.
