ATI Radeon Xpress 300 (X300) and Linux

Hello list I've just acquired an Intel D101G motherboard with ATI Radeon Xpress 300 (X300) video integrated, but am experiencing problems to make it work. I've tried the Xorg "ATI radeon generic", the Framebuffer (FB_RADEON) and the propietary driver from ATI.COM but every time I start X11 it crashes with a "signal 11" and don't know why. Surfing the web I found the "DRI" project and my chip is listed to work, so I would like to know if X300 *onboard* works, because almost all information I've found is for the PCI card version with TVout, mine is onboard for a CRT monitor.
