This message is normal (the x:0.1 entry is for the 2nd head of the card,
only needed for some windows drivers).

This is part of the X11 installation. I'm not familiar with BSD, it
seems however in the ports is still xorg 6.9. Maybe there are
experimental packages out there with xorg 7.2 rc, which would be the
easiest way to get a new ddx.
