How to compile i915 kernel module for 2.4.26

Hi,

I'm using xorg-7.2 with 2.4.26 and would like to compile the i915 
kernel module.

If I use "git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/mesa/drm" the 
compilation fails with the error message that this is for 2.6.x only.

If I use the snapshots "common-20060403-linux.i386.tar.bz2" and 
"i915-20060403-linux.i386.tar.bz2" the module compiles but xorg-7.2 
gives an error message that the module is too old.

Is there a way to compile the i915 module for xorg-7.2 and 2.4.26?
