stupid doubt, LIBGL_DEBUG

I have installed a gentoo system in a motherboard with IGP ati radeon
express 200m. Official driver is blocked and also I would like to test my
project in DRI driver. But when I run glxinfo I get that DRI is not
working. Says that set LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose to get more info. Well, how do
I set it? I have tried some ways like LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo, export
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose and so on, but got no result.
