But glxgears is not a good benchmark tool. I would like to know your system specs and video settings so that we can compare results/performance. Here are my specs: Machine #1: > micron.pc ClientPro CN, Pentium III (Coppermine, ~800MHz), 384 MB RAM, 3D Rage Pro AGP 1X/2X (Rage Pro AIW AGP 2X PCI card, 8 MB SGRAM), full specs: http://smolt.fedoraproject.org/client/show_all?uuid=pub_136d9c2b-6c5c-4414-9069-040715716a4c; > Screen resolution 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz, Color Depth 16 bpp; > Fedora 7, kernel 2.6.23.15-80.fc7.i386; > glxinfo: Direct rendering: Yes; OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Mach64 [Rage Pro] 20051019 AGP 2x x86/MMX/SSE; > glxgears ~220 FPS. Machine #2: > emachines etower 466id, Celeron (Mendocino, ~466 MHz), 256 MB RAM, 3D Rage Pro AGP 1X/2X (Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X on-board, 4 MB SGRAM), full specs: http://smolt.fedoraproject.org/client/show_all?uuid=pub_4caba599-039f-4ac7-ae9a-d03c56e839b3; > Screen resolution 800 x 600 @ 85 Hz, Color Depth 16 bpp; > Fedora 7, kernel 2.6.23.15-80.fc7.i386; > glxinfo: Direct rendering: Yes; OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Mach64 [Rage Pro] 20051019 AGP 2x x86/MMX/SSE; > glxgears ~220 FPS. Maybe it will help the developers also if they can see some performance results.... Many thanx again to George F. for his help on getting this to work.
