Unfortunately things aren't that easy. If the optimal A/V sync mode 
could be determined automatically, dvd::rip (resp. transcode) would do 
this already ;) dvd::rip uses the common defaults, which work with most
DVD's, but not with all. In the latter case you can tweak transcode's -M
option by yourself. Sometimes this helps.
