Hi there. One thing yo do have to watch is the audio/video sync. You cannot pass parameters to transcode when in cluster mode. So you cannot adjust the A/V sync at all. I found that most of my cluster rips suffered from really bad sync issues. I now use my 4 cluster machines to do 4 separate jobs simultaneously. One sort of parallelization I guess! I can then pass in the -M 3 (for PAL) and -M 4 (for NTSC) that seems to sort the sync issues. Cheers Neill. >From: "Levi Pierce" <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Subject: [dvd::rip] Rocks Cluster Parallel Encoding >Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2007 18:12:04 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from fries.zyn.de ([213.239.207.57]) by >bay0-mc3-f5.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2668); Wed, 13 >Jun 2007 16:15:46 -0700 >Received: from fries.zyn.de (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1])by >fries.zyn.de (8.13.4/8.13.4/Debian-3sarge3) with ESMTP id >l5DNC8c5003628;Thu, 14 Jun 2007 01:12:44 +0200 >Received: from wr-out-0506.google.com (wr-out-0506.google.com >[64.233.184.224])by fries.zyn.de (8.13.4/8.13.4/Debian-3sarge3) with ESMTP >idl5DNC4gn003612for <[email protected]>; Thu, 14 Jun 2007 01:12:06 >+0200 >Received: by wr-out-0506.google.com with SMTP id 57so348198wrifor ><[email protected]>; Wed, 13 Jun 2007 16:12:04 -0700 (PDT) >Received: by 10.143.14.16 with SMTP id r16mr58866wfi.1181776324043;Wed, 13 >Jun 2007 16:12:04 -0700 (PDT) >Received: by 10.143.165.8 with HTTP; Wed, 13 Jun 2007 16:12:04 -0700 (PDT) >X-Message-Info: >LsUYwwHHNt1i4VUc+emu8v2NeQ9VB1ScBTG6VtzxklsSlCkijfZjctdlwaspIKJe >X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.2.0 (2007-05-01) on fries.zyn.de >X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.0 required=5.0 tests=none >autolearn=disabledversion=3.2.0 >DKIM-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; >s=beta;h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition;b=FzDqDV2G+S7S0c+DgS+/BKHkCgFCRdslCLQB+VUy7ShKgAWpTH6Lb4degJ0ennWj87p4N2X8FVAOoKUswnKlWNg+1aX3wXO7io3gV2XaUOmyNwFd/8S6WALqHkw1A1QDxHBeXRST6D6PVWoTdPHGIcgZ5oUq2KQ1v8cYdC9gZt4= >DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; >s=beta;h=received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:content-disposition;b=Iy59VCuIwSpfwCrsPiDUQYA6JPowFniZ48mBxAEMuGIJvskMaxPVzbt9fI1ZgWHmfPm2fAol7tZLyMYgnSEVLWxuzIEf2J1gWkixIKQyEVd68/va2MZnKl8ZI2cZg3lnIqAsZTLzBYU8d21cTS8btzwjlNKSRp/Uy7g3FX/Siys= >X-Mail-Checks: sa wwmf block (fries) >X-WWMF-Version: 3.2.20070531.1@fries >X-Mail-Blocker-Flag: YES >X-BeenThere: [email protected] >X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 >Precedence: list >List-Id: "dvd::rip User Mailing List" <dvdrip-users.exit1.org> >List-Unsubscribe: ><http://lists.exit1.org/mailman/listinfo/dvdrip-users>,<mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe> >List-Post: <mailto:[email protected]> >List-Help: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=help> >List-Subscribe: ><http://lists.exit1.org/mailman/listinfo/dvdrip-users>,<mailto:[email protected]?subject=subscribe> >Errors-To: [email protected] >Return-Path: [email protected] >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 13 Jun 2007 23:15:47.0334 (UTC) >FILETIME=[C6524A60:01C7AE10] > >Hello, > > I recently setup a rocks cluster with 6 computers and would like to >encode >my large collection (1TB) of dvd's to avi.
