Using mplayer -dumpstream instead of tccat?

Hi!

There was once a thread about using mplayer instead of tccat. Well, I
bumped into the same problem, my DVD film was always stopped short when
ripping. Mplayer, however, played the film well. So, this is what I have
done:

1) Start a fresh project, with DVD disk as source

2) mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile /foo/vob/002/track2.vob  dvd://2

3) Go into the Debug -> Show Transcode commands -> there is the "Grab Preview Image Command:" - copy and execute in console

4) Under Clip&Zoom tab, click on 'Generate preview images'

5) Do everything normally from now on (i.e. set clipping, and video options, etc.)

Anyways, this is kind of a how-to. It is also a method to ask the developers if they would be willing to incorporate mplayer as a ripper? It would save me some time ;)

PS: My Xeon quad-core with dvd::rip clustering is *very* fast! The first ever app to use out my multi-cores I say!
