This is exactly what I attempted, the only difference in my case was  
that I used a network drive mounted with CIFS on all nodes.
One node was connected with wire (100 Mb/s), the others wireless (54  
Mb/s). I doubt that bandwidth was the issue, because all CPUs were all  
always full loaded.
