Looks your Perl is pretty broken if it needs the space. Perl's option
parser in general works with and without a space after the option
letter.

Ok, so please upgrade your AnyEvent to at least 4.34 and see if that
helps. You can download the latest version from CPAN:
http://search.cpan.org/~mlehmann/AnyEvent-4.4/
... but I doubt that this will succeed, at least I couldn't find
anything Glib related in the Changes file of AnyEvent which could apply
to our problem.
Probably we're running in the wrong direction, so let's check if it's
really not lsdvd related. dvd::rip falls back to tcprobe if it can't
find lsdvd on the system. So either remove the lsdvd package from your
system or just rename the /usr/bin/lsdvd binary temporarily to
/usr/bin/lsdvd.dis or something like that, restart dvd::rip and try DVD
TOC reading.
