language settings for audio

hi i am a new user to dvd rip and have one minor problem. it is ripping find
and very good quality rip as well however it is only ripping in french which
i can't understand. i have tried every way i can find to try to get it to
rip in english though even when i have it so that the preview is playing in
english it is still ripping in french. it is an old server box with dual amd
1900 palaminos i am using with a nvidia quadro agp card and running
pclinuxos. any advice would be greatly apreciated
